Thank you for using the OMNI telemetry App. Here we describe how we collect, use, and handle your personal data when you use the app.
The only user data that we collect is location data, but only if you have granted permission. Location data is collected to enable the position of the car to be shown on remote telemetry displays even when the app is closed or not in use.
We do not collect any personal information, e.g., name, email address, personal identifiers, address, phone number, race and ethnicity, political or religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or other personal information.
We do not collect any financial information, e.g., credit card, debit card, or bank account number, credit information, or other financial information.
We do not collect any health and fitness information.
We do not collect any messages, e.g., emails, SMS or MMS messages, or in-app messages.
We do not collect any photos or videos.
We do not collect any audio files.
We do not collect any calendar or contact information.
We do not collect any information relating to how you have used the app, e.g. pages viewed, settings configured, or other actions.
We do not collect any web browsing history.
We do collect crash logs and diagnostic information that is sent to Google.
Location data is collected along with other telemetry data (e.g., speed, motor rpm, battery voltage, motor current, temperature, etc.), and if configured by the user in the app settings, the location data and telemetry data is uploaded to a selected web service. Currently data can be uploaded to the following services:
These web services allow the uploaded data to be viewed as web pages by users of the service, and to be further processed by the users of the service, thus allowing the users to monitor in real time the performance of the vehicle in which the OMNI telemetry app is being used.
The Banchory Greenpower service uses the uploaded location data and telemetry data to display the position of the vehicle on a map and to display the measured telemetry values. The uploaded location data is retained along with the uploaded telemetry data to allow post test / race analysis. Once analysed the data is deleted from the Banchory Greenpower service.
You should review the privacy policy of the other services should you wish to use them.
Crash logs and diagnostic information as provided by the Google Play ecosystem are collected to allow errors in the app to be identified and corrected to improve future reliability of the app.
Other than information being visible on the web service websites, we do not actively share information with any other third parties. It should be emphasised that the location information visible on the web service websites cannot be identified with any individual user as no other user information is collected.
The Banchory Greenpower service is hosted by a third-party provider and any uploaded data may be accessible by the third party when providing support and maintenance of the service. The third-party hosting provider is responsible to us for the safeguarding of the data.
Location data uploaded to the Banchory Greenpower service is stored within the United Kingdom.
If you upload location data to any service other than Banchory Greenpower then you should review the service providers privacy policy re your control of and access to your data stored by them.
If you upload location data to the Banchory Greenpower service (typically only members of the Banchory Greenpower team will do so), then the data can be made available and / or deleted by request to the email address below. As noted above, data is routinely deleted from the Banchory Greenpower service once analysis of the data is complete.
Should you have any questions or concerns about OMNI telemetry data privacy, then please contact us at omni@banchory-greenpower.org.
